Job Description: Pre-Primary Teacher
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Pre-Primary Teacher to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping the early learning experiences of our youngest students (ages 3-5/6). You'll be responsible for creating a joyful, safe, and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and social-emotional growth, aligning with our school's curriculum and philosophy.
Skills:
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management abilities.
- Creativity, patience, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Ability to engage children through various teaching strategies.
- Proficiency in using age-appropriate educational tools and resources.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, email, online learning platforms).
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Implementation: Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate and engaging lessons in line with the pre-primary curriculum, focusing on literacy, numeracy, cognitive, and motor skill development.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive, well-organized, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning and play. Manage classroom routines and transitions effectively.
- Child Development: Observe and assess children's progress, identifying individual learning needs and providing differentiated instruction to support every child's development. Maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Creative & Play-Based Learning: Design and implement a variety of play-based activities, arts and crafts, storytelling, music, and movement that stimulate creativity, critical thinking, and social skills.
- Parent Communication: Establish and maintain open and constructive communication with parents regarding their child's progress, well-being, and school activities through regular updates, parent-teacher meetings, and formal reports.
- Social-Emotional Development: Foster a nurturing atmosphere that promotes positive social interactions, emotional regulation, and a sense of belonging among children.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with co-teachers, teaching assistants, and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Safety & Well-being: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children under your care, adhering to all school policies and procedures.
- Resource Management: Prepare and organize teaching materials and resources, ensuring the classroom is well-stocked and inviting.
